CLEVELAND, Tenn. (May 9, 2022) – OrphanWise Inc., a charitable organization that equips adult caregivers to work with children who have experienced trauma, today announced the addition of Anna Luzader, editor at Edelman Korea and nonprofit founder, to serve on its board of directors.
Luzader brings more than a decade’s worth of fundraising strategy and marketing experience to the OrphanWise Board of Directors. After graduating from Lee University with a degree in Human Development in 2012, Luzader co-founded and directed One Heart Africa (now Sharing Hope Africa) — an organization serving rural communities in Southern Africa in the areas of education, health, ethical employment and holistic community development. As the Director of Operations, she oversaw fundraising and marketing efforts, growing the organization’s annual donations to six figures within its first four years of operation.
While working in the USA, South Africa, Eswatini, and Mozambique, Luzader developed a keen interest in the impact of national culture in the workplace – specifically in nonprofit settings. Consequently, she joined Hofstede Insights as an Associate Partner and Cross-Cultural Consultant in 2021.
“From day one, OrphanWise’s vision has included bringing hope and healing to children around the world,” said Doug Pileri, OrphanWise board president. “As OrphanWise has expanded its reach over the years, working with partners in Uganda, Paraguay and Honduras – just to name a few – it’s become more necessary than ever to have people on our team who understand how to maximize both our domestic and international impact. We’re honored to have Anna on board and look forward to working with her as OrphanWise continues to scale up.”
Currently, Luzader is based in Seoul, South Korea and works as an editor at Edelman Korea. In her spare time, she hosts a podcast aiming to create connection through storytelling. Through her work background, she has seen firsthand the crucial role families play in the overall health of a community therefore igniting a passion in regards to ethical care for orphans and vulnerable children, as well as equipping caregivers with proven tools and resources.
